Put the fork down: Taco edition

The original portable delicacy, perfect for a quick bite or a full spread there are no shortage of ways to do tacos in Oklahoma City. A compact currier of delicious Latin flavor, here are just a few of the places where you can do Taco Tuesday this summer.

If you are shopping at Northpark Mall have a seat at Hacienda Tacos. The cocktails and Margaritas are just what you need on a warm summer day. Try the Cantarito in its own clay mug or the Paloma Shaker and let the stress of the day drift away.

Let’s talk about Hacienda’s tacos. This taco is so quintessential to the restaurant it has its name on it, the Hacienda Taco features ground beef with refreshing lettuce and Roma tomato. The Mojo Chicken at Hacienda is so good that they put it in several dishes most importantly the Mojo Chicken taco. Hacienda’s Seared Ahi Tuna is a taco with flavor notes from several cultures with a kicking kimchee crunch.

Some of the best spots to take your tacos outside in the city include Military Park, Scissortail Bridge, or Dolphin Wharton Park. Tacos are great for people watching, by the way, you can take them to your favorite outdoor festival or gatherings.

Taqueria Durango If you are looking for a lunch spot be sure to enjoy one of their daily lunch specials. They have a wide range of seafood options. Dishes like their Steamed Fish and Seafood Fountain will add the perfect accent to your summer.

Revolución or Rev is that restaurant on the corner of Northwest 6th and Classen Boulevard that is always rocking with people. At Rev, there are interpretations of classic tacos like Asada and Pork Carnitas as well as more unique entries on the menu. Yummy Chicken Tinga tacos and the popular Birria Tacos can expand your taco taste palette in an exciting way. Vegetarians are not left out of the fun either! Dive into the Crispy Cauliflower tacos that are reminiscent of fish tacos which they also have. Plus, for those that want more of a meaty flavor try the Beyond Meat tacos.

Brunch is big at Rev. Mix savory and sweet with the homemade Hot Chicken and Churros. On the lighter side, there is the Summer Bod Breakfast, you can’t go wrong with black beans and avocado.  If you want some hydration with your tacos, they’ve got that too! What is summer without watermelon, the Watermelon Mint is quite the treat. If you need a more intense cooldown order the Fro-Jay, a frozen margarita with mimosa vibes.

Right on Northwest 10th Street Taqueria Sanchez has all of the convenience of a food truck but the dishes served here are great examples of Mexican restaurant fare. With a great location that provides easy access whether you are coming from North or South. Snag a plate of tacos while you are on the go from Taqueria Sanchez. Their Sopes and Burrito Plates are more than enough of a reason pull-up and dig-in.

It is never a bad time for tacos. As a hot summer chases away the cold and wet Oklahoma sprinter spring-winter why not ring in the season with these little envelopes of love?
