Social Capital is a gem and a true Oklahoma treat. No fringe necessary.

When someone thinks of Oklahoma, certain images come to mind. An open prairie, cows, surrey with the fringe on top! What they might not think of is that it’s a craft beer haven. While Oklahoma’s beer history is long and interesting, you have to thank the new beer laws from 2018. Since then, our wonderful state has had a boom of a different sort, a boom in local breweries. From every corner of the state to us, right smack in the middle. We truly are lucky to have so many great options. So much so that it can be overwhelming choosing what brewery to visit. Not to forget all of the great breweries outside of the OKC Metro like Kochendofer down south in Duncan. Whenever I can’t choose where to go (or don’t want to) or people ask me where to go for a great local beer, I always suggest Social Capital. It’s a great, if not the greatest beer bar in Oklahoma, in my personal opinion. With 2 different bars and over 80 beers on tap, it carries most local or Oklahoma brewed beers. It’s a great way to sample what the Oklahoma craft beer scene is brewin’. You can even create your own beer flight for when you’re extra curious or indecisive.

While it is one of the top places to grab a pint, beer isn’t the only thing you’ll find. They have a full bar with house-made cocktails, wine, and cider. Along with your drink of choice, they have a small kitchen cooking up some great Mexican treats like tacos, quesadillas, and nachos- not to be missed.

Another plus for when your Uncle comes to town and demands you show him around, Social Capital is located right across from the new Scissortail Park. Its location is prime for sitting outside on their 2nd story deck and watching the birds fly by or the sunset over downtown. The atmosphere is that extra pizzazz to an already epic experience.

A great way to try them out is to head over for Happy Hour Tuesday-Friday from 3-6PM with $5 drinks and food specials. Social Capital is a gem and a true Oklahoma treat. No fringe necessary.
