Taco Tuesday is here and if we could make it a national holiday, we would.

This delicious concoction could totally become a food group of its own with the popularity it has obtained since its introduction in the 19th century Mexican Silver Mines. Since then, tacos have become a family favorite and a reason to hang out with your friends on a Tuesday.

Here are just a few of The Brew Staff’s favorite Taco Tuesday hot spots!

   Big Truck Tacos

What started out as a food truck favorite (They were America’s Favorite Food Truck in a nationwide contest on Food Network their second year) has become a stable on the corner of NW 23rd and Dewey Ave. This place has a choice for everyone from slow-braised brisket tacos to vegetarian options. You can find their menu at www.bigtrucktacos.com/menu

   Yo Pablo

Yo Pablo has five locations in the metro area including Edmond, NW OKC, and Norman, and have given us the taco al a carte dream. Order your tacos at the counter, then set back and await the divine cuisine about to arrive. If you want pork carnitas, sweet Chile shrimp, or even portobello mushrooms, they got you covered. Plus, Yo Pablo has a great mission, come for the Tacos, and stay for the Tequilla. Sounds like a good mission to us! Check them out at www.yo-pablo.com

    Casa Perico Mexican Grille

Casa Perico is a family-owned authentic Mexican restaurant where everything is made from scratch, including their chips! You will find everything from the traditional beef or chicken to a spicy street taco. And rumor has it, they have a bomb, Margherita! Casa Perico has two locations in the OKC metro: N.W. 63rd and Meridian as well as N.W. 122nd and Pennsylvania. Want to learn more about Casa Perico?  Here you go www.casaperico.com

     Hacienda Tacos

Does everyone in your group want something different? Well, Hacienda has you covered with available choices of seafood, traditional Tex-Mex, New Mexican, or even vegetarian. The house Hacienda Tacos with crispy or soft tortilla, hacienda ground beef, lettuce, Monterrey jack, and Roma tomatoes are a staff favorite. Just add your favorite beverage and you are set! Hacienda Taco has two locations in OKC, NorthPark Mall and Midtown Plaza. You can plan your visit here www.haciendatacos.com

     Taqueria Mr. Dollar

This food truck is amazing! They have a fantastic traditional menu that includes Asada beef, Pollo chicken, pastor spicy pork, lengua tongue, carnitas fried port, tripas Cabeza, and barbacoa barbeque. A staff favorite is the carne asada and Al pastor. Make sure and check Taqueria Mr. Dollar out at SW 29th and Ollie Ave. Follow them on Facebook at www.facebook.com/pages/Taqueria-Mr-Dollar

    Taqueria Sanchez Taco Truck

Taqueria Sanchez at 4011 NW 10th, offers an excellent selection of street tacos. Their menu selections are as authentic as you would expect from such a venue and the Lengua taco is recommended by the staff. They even have a special drink that helps to equal out the sometimes intense spice flavor of several of the dishes! See what others have said about Taqueria Sanchez here www.facebook.com/pages/Taqueria-Sanchez

Make sure and get out and celebrate this day at your favorite taco place and let us know where you end up…inquiring minds want to know!

Kari Huskey
Kari grew up in the small northern town of Wakita, Oklahoma (yes, the Twister town lol) After graduation, she took her small town roots to Oklahoma State University where she learned how to 2-step and chug a beer...and study...there was some studying going on too. :) This is where she found herself immersed in the local music scene and just like that, her love of music and writing began. Through the years Kari has become a half marathon enthusiast and uses that as an excuse to travel, giving her the chance to explore the culture of other cities across the US. During her travels she gained appreciation for great craft beer, delicious food and how to pour the perfect glass of wine...all the way to the top of course!
