The beer that made me religious

It’s no secret unless you don’t know me personally, that I LOVE dark strong beers. I mean, I love most beers, but I have a special place in my heart for the dark strong ones and OKC has a lot of amazing options in this realm. Most of my favorites reside at Twisted Spike Brewery.  I also happen to love seeing businesses come out of a person’s passion. This one for instance comes from the heart and passion of Bruce Sanchez. I remember meeting and trying Bruce’s beer several years before the brewery opened when I got to sample some of his brews at a friend’s birthday party. I was an immediate fan.

So, on to the beer that made me religious. Twisted Spike has a healthy selection of amazing beers.  Two of my favorites are their amazing Belgian-style Quadruple called Holy Beer and their Russian Imperial Stout called Black Snake. Each of these two beers stands out in the world of dark and strong beers. The Holy Beer is a Belgian that I would put up against the best in the industry with it’s rich flavor and aroma, not to mention an ABV of 9.5%. Then you have the Black Snake that rings in at 9.8% with it’s dark roasted malts and coffee notes and it’s high alcohol content that makes you feel it.

What only the brave know is that some of the best things in life are created by blending 2 great things together to create something truly majestic. Thus, I give you the Holy Snake. A combination that truly is hard to describe in words. You have the rich Belgian notes connecting to the heavy stout notes and your tastebuds start to sing praises to God for creating the ingredients that sacrificed themselves to give you something truly beautiful.  Don’t take my word for it, go get religious with this amazing beer.
